Martin Stanley (Chairman) Martin worked in the commercial sector for many years including telecoms, software and publishing. He set up a small charity which supports and works with a number of wildlife conservation and sustainable development projects mainly in Latin America. He also supports UK environmental and education projects related to the environment.
Mike Townsend OBE (Director) Mike trained and practiced as a forester with both commercial companies and NGOs, in the UK and overseas. He has been, successively, Senior Advisor, Chief Executive and Operations Director of The Woodland Trust. He was awarded the OBE for services to the forest industry.
Tom Curtis (Managing Director) With a background in ecological research, Tom also has extensive professional land managing experience, ranging from ancient woodland restoration, to sheep and arable farming. He is concerned with the connection between people and land - the finite resource on which we all rely for the basics of survival.
Amanda Cooper (Programme Manager) Amanda's background is in environment and community development. With diverse experience of working on neighbourhood renewal in cities and education, Amanda is currently managing The Bread Festival and Community Bakery Toolkit.
Colin Tudge (Advisor) A biologist and writer with a lifelong interest in food and agriculture, Colin's first book in this area was The Famine Business, 1977. The most recent are So Shall We Reap, 2003, and Feeding People is Easy, 2007. See www. colintudge.com.
Ruth West (Advisor) Ruth has worked in advocacy and research on issues concerning health (in particular complementary and traditional medicine), the environment (health and climate change and biodiversity) and human rights (minority and indigenous rights of self determination).
